Hello Kenny Families -
Thank you so much for your engagement and support of the Kenny community. Kenny School is looking forward to a great 2025-26 school year and can’t wait to welcome all of the Kenny Kids back into the building in just a short time.
The mission of Kenny School and Minneapolis Public Schools focuses on providing a high-quality, anti-racist, and culturally responsive education for every Minneapolis student. While Kenny students consistently excel and perform at a high level, it is also our shared responsibility as a community to ensure that every student and family feels welcomed and supported at Kenny School — fostering both student well-being and academic success.
In partnership with AMAZE Works, Kenny School will be hosting several community circles for families to discuss, share, and learn more about each other’s perspectives, identities, and experiences. In addition, the Kenny staff, in partnership with the Kenny Parent Foundation, will focus on removing barriers for all families to be part of the many activities hosted here at Kenny School.
At the district level, MPS will be rolling out our racial harm and bias protocol this Fall. This protocol will be followed to address racial harm and bias incidents immediately and support students. As we work on and roll out our protocol, we are open to feedback, as it is always our intent to ensure that all of our students and families feel welcome, safe, and supported. Student and family voices are critical to ensure that we are fulfilling our vision and values as it relates to our climate framework.
As we work together to support students, please be aware that students or their parents can report any issues or concerns directly to me or any trusted adult. Any individual can also utilize our HelpMe app to anonymously report any issues or concerns. Individuals can also connect with our Office of Civil Rights to file a complaint.
Again, thank you for your ongoing engagement and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jessica Busse
Principal
